Microfabrication Integration
We can integrate your microfabricated devices or components, such as etched silicon and glass or photolithographically patterned SU8, directly into an embossing master for plastics production. All of the fidelity and precision of your parts will be reproduced, but with two major advantages. First, we can further incorporate fluidic interconnects, channels, or entire layers to provide a fully-functional, self-contained device. Second, by converting from labor-intensive microfabrication to higher capacity plastic embossing, the cost of your finished devices will drop dramatically while the durability increases dramatically.
This is a great way to take the next step towards large-scale injection molding of your device. It works great with silicon or glass, anisotropic etches such as KOH, isotropic processes such as HF, both RIE and DRIE, and photoresists such as SU8.
